Artist Alix D. McCown

   With beginnings in childhood, always pencil in hand, Alix Downie McCown has evolved to a professional artist doing traditional subjects in traditional media while continually experimenting and growing into new art forms and media.

   Now experience Alix's latest venture "Unexpected Reflections", a combination of random splashes of paint, enhanced by hand and computer manipulation. As she said, "To me, art provides a way to free the feelings inside and in so doing, expose without fear who I really am, in the way most natural and comfortable to me. Even I don't know where the inspiration  will lead.  I just allow the random patterns of  color to first express themselves inside the folded paper, then I enhance the images I see within them, sometimes many different ones from the same pattern of colors."  It is almost a dance  between artist and the media in use, a perfect balance of creative expression which beautifully presents itself in each of her works.

   Below are selected limited edition "Unexpected Reflections" prints presented using the Giclée printing system.
