Anansi The Music Metaphysician
On the tongues of slaves and immigrants, Anansi, the mythic spider~man, has traveled from the shores of west Africa to the hills of the Caribbean. He is both spider and man, and he is known to all to use his cunning wits to get ahead. Many perceive Anansi to be a bit devilish, lazy and dishonest. But let us open our eyes to Anansi as the sufferer, striving to get ahead in a world that oppresses him. Let us see Anansi as the Rasta, the simple loving man who lives close to the earth and plays the music of peace and overstanding.
